Belarus-Russia Union State MPs suggest creating textbook on Great Patriotic War
MOSCOW, 13 March (BelTA) – Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State have suggested developing a textbook on the history of the Great Patriotic War. The idea was discussed at the session of the Social Policy, Culture, Science, and Humanitarian Affairs Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly in Orenburg on 12 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarus-Russia Union State PA.
Members of the commission recommended the Belarusian Education Ministry and the Russian Education and Science Ministry to discuss the matter at a joint session and invite Belarus-Russia Union State MPs to participate in the meetings of the working group tasked with developing the textbook.
The MPs also talked over the current issues of the implementation of the social policy of the Belarus-Russia Union State and the organization of events to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and Belarus' liberation from the Nazi invaders. The MPs have plans to attend lessons of courage at Belarusian and Russian educational establishments. Besides, the program of the tenth edition of the festival Youth for the Union State held in Rostov-on-Don on the initiative of the Parliamentary Assembly will feature a contest of patriotic songs.
