Japan’s Itochu Corporation seeks cooperation with Mogilev Mogotex
MOGILEV, 4 March (BelTA) – Japan’s Itochu Corporation is interested in developing cooperation with Mogilev-based Mogotex, BelTA learnt from Mogotex Director General Viktor Matiyevich.
The first meeting with representatives of the Japanese company took place at Heimetextil 2015 expo in Frankfurt am Main in early 2015. The representatives of the Japanese holding company showed interest in the Belarusian textile and were invited to visit the Belarusian company. They paid a visit to Mogilev in late February. The guests were taken on a tour around the company and shown the company's main lineup: textiles and ready-made goods.
According to Mogotex Director General, flexibility, access to new markets, diversification of products are requirements for all markets in the current economic situation, and Mogotex have been keeping them as priority areas for the past few years. “Among today’s important areas is access to the Japanese market, one of the most closed markets worldwide. We take a sequential strategy in order to earn its confidence. First steps in establishing business relations were made in 2014 when we paid our first visit to Japan’s biggest textile exhibition to showcase our products. At the meeting with Itochu Corporation representatives at the German exhibition in early 2015 we were able to present our assortment and discuss their visit to Belarus,” he said.
During the visit to the Mogilev company the parties held a number of business talks. “We discussed possible supplies of our ready-made products and textiles to Japanese partners and prospects for placing orders and producing goods under the Mogotex trademarks with a view to sell them to third countries. We also showed the guests a wide assortment of our textiles and products. Samples which drew attention of our guests have already been sent to Japan,” Viktor Matuyevich said.
