Belarusian delegation's visit to Azerbaijan to help intensify industrial cooperation

The visit of an official Belarusian delegation to Azerbaijan will contribute to further intensification of cooperation in the manufacturing sector. Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov is convinced of it as a result of the visit, the Industry Ministry press service told BelTA.

Aleksandr Yefimov was in Azerbaijan on 14-16 May as part of a Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Igor Petrishenko.

During the visit the Belarusian deputy industry minister took part in the 13th session of the Belarus-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. The sides discussed topical matters of development of bilateral relations. High dynamics of trade turnover was noted. Belarus-Azerbaijan trade rose by nearly 55% in Q1 2023 to exceed $8 million.

Aleksandr Yefimov remarked that agreements had been reached and decisions had been made, which would contribute to further advancement of mutually beneficial contacts and in addition to increasing mutual shipments they would give a new impulse to cooperation in the manufacturing sector.

Thus, OAO Mogilevliftmash and UOO Ulu Goyce (Baku) signed a roadmap on setting up an enterprise to assemble lift equipment in Azerbaijan in 2023-2024. The Belarusian automaker OAO MAZ and the Baku-based company Turan signed a dealership agreement, which provides for promoting MAZ products on the Azerbaijani market and for their aftersales service. OAO Kozlov Minsk Electrotechnical Plant and Azmetz LLC (Baku) signed a contract on deliveries of electrical products. Apart from that, an agreement was reached on increasing the production of Belarusian MTZ tractors at Ganja Automotive Plant up to over 1,000 units per annum.
